Our relationship is great so why do we need pre-marriage counselling?
Marriage marks a big step in our lives. It's a good time to think about our goals, how we support each other, what we want to do together, how we talk about our feelings, and how we handle disagreements kindly. Pre-marriage counselling helps couples develop new relationship skills and build healthy patterns for the road ahead.
When should we do pre-marriage counselling?
Ideally, before marriage, as it's beneficial to prepare together for a strong and lasting relationship. Getting guidance and tools beforehand helps you navigate challenges effectively from the start. If you didn't do pre-marriage counselling, you can still do it after getting married.
Is your service religious?
No. Pre-Marriage Counselling Australia is a non-religious service. If you or your partner wish to discuss religion in your sessions, I will happily support you to do this, but I do not provide any religious guidance.
Are you inclusive of LGBTQIA+ relationships?
Absolutely. All relationships are warmly encouraged to engage with this service.
This is not our first marriage - should we still do it?
In second marriages, learning from past relationships is key. This program can help you avoid old mistakes by enhancing your self-awareness, communication, and conflict management skills.
